Friends of Pengersick
The Friends of Pengersick were established in 1999,
the aim being to provide the Pengersick Education & Historic Trust with
the financial and practical support needed to enable their work of preserving
the Magic and Mystery of this historic site to continue into the future.
Pengersick Castle remains in private ownership, and is maintained entirely
by grants and donations, and the valuable help
of our Friend's events and member's subscriptions.
The Castle is under continual development, with new links to local and
international history being found, and a variety of projects including
the Garden Trail and recently refurbished Resource Centre, explaining
the archaeology and architecture of its 5,000 years of history.
Horticulture in the context of history, militaria, music, drama and dance,
travel and trade; all are part of the continuing story of Pengersick,
in which our Friends play such an exciting and essential part.
Becoming
a Friend of Pengersick costs just £10 a year for an individual, £5 for
children and £15 for a family. Members receive a personalised membership
card and regular newsletters, keeping them up to date with recent news
and forthcoming events.
At least one social gathering is held each year, where Friends
can meet, exchange ideas and enjoy appropriate refreshments. We also have
a junior members section, who make their own special contribution to our
future.
